Rainmaker audit AI visibility Marin County / Personal injury

Injured people are asking AI which lawyer to call. It isn't naming you.

Accident victims have started asking ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI answers instead of scrolling ten blue links. The AI names two or three firms. Everyone else never gets the call, and never knows the case existed. We checked what the engines actually say today for Marin County injury searches, and where three real local firms stand in the answer.

Prepared July 22, 2026 Market Marin County, CA Engines Perplexity, Google, ChatGPT-class Firms audited 3

Made by AI, on purpose. An automated system ran this research and every fact-check, then a second pass re-verified each claim against live sources. That is the point: if AI can map a firm's visibility this precisely, it can also fix it. And you do not have to trust it. The next section gives you the exact searches to run yourself.

The finding

AI is already routing Marin's injury cases. These firms are not in the answer.

An AI assistant does not judge lawyers. It repeats whatever the directory and "best of" pages it trusts already say. We asked Perplexity two real buyer questions, live. Here is exactly what came back.

Perplexity / broad intent
"Who is the best personal injury lawyer in Marin County, California?"
What it answered

It declined to crown one firm, then named a single option it said was "commonly highlighted," citing a Justia directory listing:

Gregory J. Brod, Brod Law Firm
None of the three audited firms were mentioned at all.
Perplexity / high intent
"I was in a car accident in Novato. Which personal injury law firm should I call?"
What it answered

After a checklist, it named three firms "from publicly available listings":

Arash Law Moseley Collins Rush Injury Law
Two of the three are not Marin firms. They are large out of area operations that win on content scale. Anderson Franco and Kuvara were not named.

Captured live from Perplexity on July 22, 2026. AI answers shift from run to run, which is part of the point: the firm that owns the underlying source pages gets named repeatedly, and the rest depend on luck.

Verify it yourself

Don't take our word for it. Run these searches yourself.

This is live, public data, not a private tool you have to trust. Paste any of these into an AI assistant and watch what comes back. You will see the same pattern we did.

I was just in a car accident in Novato, CA. Can you recommend a personal injury law firm I could reach out to?

What to watch: note whether the firm you care about is named at all, and which competitors show up instead. If the firm is missing from the answer, that absence is exactly the gap this report measures. Answers shift slightly from run to run, so run each one two or three times and across a couple of engines.

How the answer gets built

Whoever sits on these pages gets recommended. Everyone else is invisible.

Across every buyer query we tested, the AI and Google answers were assembled from the same small pool of aggregator and "best of" pages. Placement on them, not case results or firm size, is what decides who the engines name.

Expertise.com, two Marin lists
"22 Best Personal Injury Lawyers" and "23 Best Car Accident Lawyers." The single most cited source in our checks.
Yelp Top 10, Marin / San Rafael
Algorithmic top-ten that AI answers quote directly, reviews and all.
Super Lawyers, San Rafael
Curated ranking page the engines treat as a peer-vetted shortlist.
Justia and FindLaw directories
Category pages that feed both Google and the AI assistants their firm names.

Firms that recur across three or more of these pages, LNN Law, Rush Injury Law, Sally Morin, Fleming Law, Monty White, Halavanau, Chapman, Delfino Green & Green, effectively own Marin AI visibility right now. The three firms below each have real credentials and are still missing from most of this pool.

Each score is directional, out of 100, built for comparison rather than certification. The breakdown shows where the visibility is lost.

Rush Injury Law
51/100
AI visibility

Second-tier presence with strong assets left on the table. Rush sits near the bottom of the exact roundups AI cites and does not surface for its own home-city query, so AI names competitors first, even though its founder carries stronger credentials than most of them.

"personal injury lawyer Novato CA"

For its own headquarters city, the firm's website did not appear on page one in our checks. Justia, FindLaw, and Super Lawyers directory pages plus competitor sites filled the answer instead. Live, Perplexity did name Rush for a narrower "car accident in Novato" question, but dropped it entirely for the broad "best in Marin" query. Partial visibility, dependent on how the question is phrased.

Critical gaps
  • High
    Loses its own home-city search
The firm site did not rank on page one for "personal injury lawyer Novato CA," the most local query in the set and its literal HQ city.
  • High
Bottom of the lists AI actually reads
Present on both Expertise.com Marin roundups but low: position 14 of 18 on the injury list and 18 of 23 on the car-accident list. On the page, rarely named first.
  • High
Broken structured data pointing at a vendor's domain
The homepage schema uses a malformed "legalservice" type and references a third-party SEO vendor domain instead of the firm's own, which can break how AI resolves who the site is about. Schema exists; it is defective, not absent.
  • Medium
Missing the schema types AI uses for legal answers
No FAQ, attorney, or review structured data, despite the firm having a strong founder bio, a testimonials page, and a verdicts page to populate them.
  • Medium
    Thin buyer-question content, no llms.txt
No FAQ pages for AI to quote, a generic homepage headline with no practice or geo signal, and no llms.txt file to guide AI crawlers.
Quick wins
  • Repair the schema and repoint it to the firm's own domain. Removes a real entity-resolution risk in one edit.
  • Publish an llms.txt file. Gives AI crawlers a clean entry point where there is now a 404.
  • Add attorney and review schema for the founder's verified credentials. Makes strong, hidden trust signals machine-readable.

The fix, in order
  1. Repair and complete the schema foundation. Fix the type, repoint to the firm domain, add attorney, review, breadcrumb, and FAQ markup.
  2. Push higher on the pages AI cites. Move from the bottom of the Expertise.com lists toward the top ten, and complete the Yelp and Super Lawyers profiles.
  3. Build FAQ and city content that answers buyer questions. Prioritize the Novato and San Rafael queries the site currently loses.
  4. Re-test all queries in 30 to 60 days. Confirm the firm has moved from skipped to named.
Anderson Franco Law
San Rafael · andersonfranco.com
46/100
AI visibility

An excellent website that AI never gets to see. The site is technically strong and the credentials are real, yet the firm is absent from every roundup the engines cite, and its directory profiles are filed under San Francisco instead of San Rafael. Right firm, wrong place in the index.

"best personal injury lawyer in Marin County"

The firm did not appear, and was invisible in both live Perplexity answers. This is confirmed by direct page checks: it is not on either Expertise.com Marin list, and not on the Super Lawyers San Rafael ranking. Because it is not in the source pool, the AI has nothing to pull it from, no matter how good the site is.

Critical gaps
  • High
Absent from every Marin roundup AI cites
Verified by direct fetch: not on the Expertise.com injury list, not on the car-accident list, not on the Super Lawyers San Rafael page. This is the single biggest driver of the low score.
  • High
Did not surface for any buyer query
Across all six flagship queries, directory pages and competitors appeared while the firm did not.
  • Medium
    Right credentials, wrong city
A 10.0 Avvo rating with 47 reviews, a Super Lawyers Rising Star, and a strong Justia profile, all filed primarily under San Francisco, which dilutes relevance for Marin and San Rafael searches.
  • Medium
    No llms.txt
Returns a 404. The rest of the technical foundation is genuinely good: rich schema including FAQ, organization, attorney, and review markup, HTTPS, clean sitemaps, AI crawlers allowed.
  • Low
Thin, split review presence in Marin
Ratings are excellent everywhere, but review volume sits on the San Francisco listings rather than a San Rafael profile.
Quick wins
  • Publish llms.txt pointing to the Marin and San Rafael pages. Closes the one real technical gap.
  • Re-anchor the directory profiles to the San Rafael office. Turns strong credentials into local signals with no new content.
  • Claim and feed the San Rafael Google profile. Concentrates reviews in the right geography.

The fix, in order
  1. Publish llms.txt and sharpen the local geo signals. Anchor the strong site to Marin, not only San Francisco.
  2. Re-anchor and consolidate the directory profiles to San Rafael. Highest leverage, lowest effort: the credentials already exist.
  3. Apply for the Marin roundups AI reads. Expertise.com's two Marin lists and the Super Lawyers San Rafael ranking.
  4. Build the San Rafael review base, then re-test. Concentrate the 5.0 rating locally and re-run the queries in 30 to 60 days.
Kuvara Law Firm
San Rafael · kuvaralawfirm.com
50/100
AI visibility

Broad footprint, missing from the pages that crown the "best." Kuvara has an established, multi-location web presence and even shows up in Yelp's Marin top ten, but it is absent from the editorial roundups AI leans on for "best" questions, so it loses the highest-intent searches to competitors.

"best personal injury lawyer in Marin County"

On a fresh run the AI answer named competitors and did not mention Kuvara. It is confirmed absent from both Expertise.com Marin roundups and no Super Lawyers San Rafael listing surfaced. The firm does hold its own on narrower San Rafael and "reviews" queries via Yelp, so this is a roundup-placement gap on the highest-value questions, not total invisibility.

Critical gaps
  • High
Absent from both Expertise.com Marin roundups
Verified live on both pages. These are exactly the lists that fed competitor names into the flagship AI answer.
  • High
No Super Lawyers San Rafael listing surfaced
The firm holds an AV Preeminent rating and Avvo awards, so this is a placement gap, not a lack of credentials.
  • Medium
FAQ content exists but is invisible to AI
The FAQ page has real answers, but carries no FAQ schema, so schema-reading engines cannot extract them as answers.
  • Medium
    Thin structured data, no llms.txt
One generic schema block reused site-wide, no organization or attorney markup, and llms.txt returns a 404.
  • Medium
    Signals fragmented across duplicate listings
Presence spread across eight or more FindLaw pages and several Yelp listings, some marked closed, which splits the authority a single strong profile would hold.
Quick wins
  • Add FAQ schema to the existing FAQ page. The content is already written; markup makes it citable.
  • Publish an llms.txt file. Turns a wide-open but unguided site into a guided one.
  • Layer in organization and attorney schema. Connects the firm to its people and reviews.

The fix, in order
  1. Fix the technical foundation. Add FAQ, organization, and attorney schema, and publish llms.txt. The content already exists; the markup does not.
  2. Get listed on the roundups AI cites. Both Expertise.com Marin lists and Super Lawyers. This is the core gap.
  3. Consolidate the duplicate directory footprint. One strong profile per platform instead of many weak ones.
  4. Strengthen reviews, then re-test. Verify the Google profile, grow volume, and re-run the queries in 30 to 60 days.
The pattern

Three real firms. Three different gaps. One repeatable fix.

None of these firms is invisible online. Each has genuine credentials and real reviews. They lose AI visibility for the same underlying reason: they are missing from the small set of pages the engines cite, and their own sites are not built for a machine to read. That is a fixable problem, and the fix is the same shape every time.

Step 1
Clean the foundation
Valid schema, attorney and FAQ markup, and an llms.txt so AI crawlers can read who the firm is and what it does.
Step 2
Get on the cited pages
Placement on the Expertise.com, Yelp, Super Lawyers, and Justia lists that the engines actually pull their answers from.
Step 3
Feed the reviews and answers
Consolidate reviews in the right geography and publish buyer-question content the AI can quote directly.
Step 4
Re-test and report
Re-run the same buyer queries every month and show the movement from skipped to named.

Method and honest caveats

Who made this. This report was produced by an automated AI research system, not written by hand, and it is the same kind of system that would do the ongoing visibility work. We are telling you that plainly because it matters: the findings are reproducible, not opinion, and the report itself is a working demonstration of the capability. Every claim was then re-checked against live sources before it was included.

How this was checked. Live web searches on real buyer queries, direct fetches of the roundup and directory pages, raw-HTML inspection of each firm's site for schema, llms.txt, and crawler rules, two live Perplexity queries, and an adversarial verification pass that re-checked every "absent" or "missing" claim before it was allowed into this report. One technical finding was caught and corrected during that pass and is not repeated here.

What to hold loosely. AI answers vary by run, user, and location, so the query results are point-in-time snapshots, not permanent facts. Some Google review counts could not be confirmed directly and are deliberately not stated as numbers. Scores are directional and built for comparison, not certification.
